I started making the occasional bottle of mulled wine at my stables on Fridays after completing the yard work and then giving a riding lesson to a group of ladies. A glass of mulled wine and a slice of home made cake went down very well indeed, this led to us having our first Mulled Wine Night one evening before Christmas.
We gathered in the tack room huddled around a gas fire, my parents came as well, because dad was chief stable builder and mum kept us supplied with chocolate cake, to help keep us going. I made a big vat of mulled wine (Original), which was consumed quite quickly, and two more big vats of Mulled wine followed before everyone had drank their fill, and all went home very happy!
Seven years down the line we still have our mulled wine nights before Christmas and over the years I have been told the mulled wine was good enough to sell so November 24th 2013 saw the start of my new business selling home made mulled wine.
The Original Mulled Wine is still my favourite as it has Rum in it but I have developed several new flavours, which have been well tested by my husband who is chief taster (a terrible job but someone has to do it!) and the ladies at the stables are always willing tasters giving me much needed feed back.
Once Georgian Farm House is fully up and running you will be able to order mulled wine ON LINE but for now do come along to one of the events we are attending and come and have a free no-obligation tasting session to see if you like any of our flavours. The mulled wine looks great in the gift boxes we have so makes great Christmas presents. If you buy a bottle I hope you enjoy it, why not have your own gathering of family and friends to help cheer up the long cold winter nights. Celebrate winter and Spring will arrive much faster. x
